Page eight. My original plan for this page was a much bloodier affair. Indeed, I'd written, thumbnailed and sketched it out that way, but I found it just looked way too much like some sort of violent horror-porn. Luckilly I know Dale Mettam, who is, like, a proper writer and everything, and something he and I had worked on together offered a way out.

So here's page eight, and we see the aftermath of the horror, rather than the horror itself, which to my mind works a lot better.

Thanks Dale!

All MangaStudio. I'm really trying to 'paint' these in MS rather than conventially pencil them.

Really loving this so far! I'm in love with your style and eye for composition, can't wait for more!

Thanks very much! I worry that sometimes I'm treating each page as a stand-alone item, rather than part of a whole, so your liking the composition is good! (I also worry about the shocking perspective - or lack of - on the cop's truncheon, but noone's noticed that, so ssshhhh)

There's nothing wrong with treating a page as a stand alone image, there's nothing more disappointing for me than picking up a comic book based on it's cover and opening it up to see the standard drop to really basic art styles.
But then a perk of any drawing is the average reader will give a single image about 5-10 seconds attention, and won't pick up on the things artists struggle for hours to draw (or maybe that isn't a perk in some cases) and I feel like that time is even less with comics. The image just becomes a visual guide for the main focus on the text. Which I do find a shame.
But honestly pal, really loving everything so far.

I like that we don't actually see what happens. Good idea to change it :D

Cheers. I wish I'd decided to do it before I'd drawn most of the previous version tho :)

Your cops look and act a lot different than the ones we have in America. They seem more civilized and classy.

Oh I don't know about that. The Met is a racist, corrupt organisation that seems to operate a shoot-to-kill policy...
